Nucleocapsid protein, NP, Protein N
SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid protein (S202N), His Tag (NUN-C52H3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Met 1 - Ala 419 (Accession # QHO62115.1 (S202N)). The nucleocapsid protein is consisted of the N-terminal RNA-binding domain (NTD) and the C-terminal dimerization domain (CTD), divided by a central serine/arginine-rich (SR)-linker responsible for phosphorylation. Phosphorylation of this SR-link motif in SARS-CoV modulates nucleocapsid multimerization, translational inhibitory activity and cellular localization. The mutation S202N was identified on the SR-linker of the nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 variants with high frequency in variants circulating in Asia and Africa (data retrieved from https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33095454/).
Predicted N-terminus: Met 1
Online(Met 1 - Ala 419) QHO62115.1 (S202N)Development Suggestion
This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
The protein has a calculated MW of 47.3 kDa. The protein migrates as 55-65 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method.
>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4. Normally trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.
